Your relationships are not perfect. Tell me that you’ve never struggled with relating to others and I’ll see you as one of two things - a bulldozer or a contortionist.
I’ll talk about the bulldozer, the contortionist and the explorer in another post. I'm delaying that to remind you about your most important relationship, your primary relationship - you know, your partner, husband, wife, person you love to play slap and tickle with.
That’s assuming that you either have a partner or have at one time or another had a partner.
So. Why do we fight with them?
We fight with them because they’re there.
We fight with them because it’s easy.
We fight with them because it’s convenient.
We fight with them because we can.
Really, it’s that simple. It’s super convenient and safe for many of us to direct our most despised parts of ourselves at our partners. Our complaints, fears, aggressions and hostilities regularly get directed to those closest to us.
