Record yourself.
Go on.
Do it.
How do you sound?
Does it sound like you?
What do you sound like when you sound like you.
There are times, listening to my children when they ‘sound like’ me.
Some of these times fill me with pride.
Others cause me to cringe.
Writing everyday is a great way to find your voice.
What do you sound like when you sound like you and you’re comfortable with what you hear?
3 stories:
1) listening to the answering machine where "some woman" leaves a "Hi Honey . .." message for my husband. I was approaching seething when I realized it was me.
2) My daughter's reactions and tone are dead on duplicates of my own. It is adorable and frightening. Poor thing.
3) COVID required me to record myself for 20 + hours a week and I would have listen to some to ensure the sound quality was okay. It feels much better than before. Funny what you can get used to.
