We convince ourselves about a lot of things. We can convince ourselves about anything really. The stories we tell ourselves in the meat screen behind our eyes? They’re a lot like late-nite television back in the day. They are stories on repeat.
Stories in our heads never start out there. Thoughts come after sensations, after feelings that come from the body. This is neuroscience. What we see / believe to be real? It’s a story.
One of the stories we tell ourselves the most about revolves around ‘being ready’ - ready to change, ready to act, ready to go, ready to create, ready eat? They all begin as a sensation.
