I’m blessed to have some wonderful men in my life. In addition to my dad, son and uncles, I have some pretty fantastic dudes in my life. The men I worked with on Behind the Scenes were outstanding. I loved the time we had together. I’m also blessed to have some pretty great fellas to hang around with.

Writing that, Jed and Zeke come to mind. We ride bikes together a lot. They are masters at building unsanctioned mountain bike trails. They do it by hand. Building trails with a machine would be the easy way. Instead they do it the hard way.

The easy way of building trails requires paperwork, applications, patience and community consultations. Jed and Zeke like digging. They don’t like paperwork or consultations. In this way, the easy way of getting a machine to move massive rocks and make trails is too hard. Instead, they do hard physical work so they don’t have to do the other stuff.

I am fond of neither paperwork nor committees. Public consultations sound like a giant pain in the ass. I…
