The movie has ended.

The play is over

The concert is finished.

The credits are rolling

The actors are back stage getting out of their costumes.

The band having played three encores are not coming back.

You’ve eaten the meal, had desert, coffee, paid the bill, tipped the waiter and sucked on the mints.

Even television used to end.

It did!

They’d play the anthem and show a test pattern all night long.

We have so many rituals and routines that mark endings.

And yet?

Instagram never closes.

Tickity tock is always on.

Create constant content for your followers.

I blame the infomercials, the constant shopping channels and of course, Marvel.

Those bastards started hiding easter eggs in the credits.

Now, no one leaves the theatre until the credits are completely finished.

What are story are you clininging to?

What show, movie or content creator can’t you get enough of?

What relationship are you clinging to?

What role won’t you let go of?

What mask isn’t getting put away?

What are you unwilling to end?
