What's funny for you

It’s a tough time to be an idiot?
Really, it is.
What’s tough about being an idiot?
Right now, people seem to take a lot of things really seriously, including themselves.
That’s when the problems start.
Yeah. for sure. That’s where the problems start.
You’re implying that it gets worse.
Yeah. It gets worse. With so many people taking so many things so very seriously, joking around can feel like a risk these days.
How are you going to be able to learn to laugh at yourself if you don’t know how or where to laugh. If if what’s funny to you is going to be funny beyond your brain.
It’s enough to drive a person to seriousness.
You know what they say about taking things really seriously most of the time.
Yup, it is a MAJOR indication of being a bit of a perfectionist.
No perfect world
No perfect relationship.
Yup, nothing left to do but
Get over yourself.
But it’s still dangerous to joke around.
A sense of humour is so personal
There’s nothing better than finding someone who gets you
But how do you find them - people who joke around the same way as you? How do you play with that?
Well, dear readers, how do you play in such a way that you discover who gets you?
How do you know and create space for your dark, vicious, grotesque, surreal, slapstick idiot, puerile, idiotic, mean, generous, cutting, explosive and most creative and playful sense of humour?
Or,
Is your humour like that of a CBC drama during the 1970’s
Husband: Oh look dear, there are raccoons in the yard.
Wife: Why yes there are.
LONG EXTERIOR SHOT OF DIMLY LIT HOUSE ON A HILL FADE TO BLACK OVER NEXT FORTY SIX MINUTES WITH BREAKS FOR COMMERCIALS
That is to say, is your humour oh so fucking boring that we would rather douse ourselves in honey and wait for the fire ants, than share a joke with you.
I think a sure sign that the world is getting more serious is that more people find you funny. The baseline for funny drops. People are so desperate for a laugh, that they will laugh at what I say. On the other hand, when I am trying to be funny, people seem more confused as to whether it's okay to find that funny. There's a hesitancy for approval and a desperation for release.
Funny times.
