This writing stuff.
It’s an endurance race.
Sean was in an endurance race lately - the tip to tip race across Nova Scotia.
He did it his way.
My experience of him?
It was a lot different than his experience of the race.
I wonder dear reader how that parallels our relationship?
I watched a dot on a map as he chased down a dream and connected with something profound.
As he was finding his way with plastic wrapped maps, I agonized over him getting lost, wishing he had a Garmin.
In the end though?
The ride was his story, his experience, his meaning.
And my perception of what that was like?
There were times that I was spot on and others where I missed the point and what he was discovering all together.
That is to say dear reader, that though we may meet here from time to time
And some of you might even be cheering me on from the sidelines,
You’ll never know what it’s like to ‘ride this far’ until you make a promise to yourself and grind out words every day.
So.
If you’ve thought about doing something epic?
Shit or get off the pot.
There is no room for ‘maybe’ in this space.
