If you want to build trust when showing people around your town,

Begin with an old joke.

How many bodies are buried in that cemetery?

Let your guests complete the joke:

ALL OF THEM!

A chorus functions the same way whether a song or a punch line.

Bring something familiar to sights that they are seeing for the first time.

Include them with a joke they know.

And in doing so?

They’ll feel welcome and belonging.
