Commitment is a sensory experience.
When I commit to going out, I feel tight. It as though I feel a force pushing back on me.
Committing to seeing anyone feels that way these days.
Even committing to a bike ride or a surf feels painful.
I’ve struggled with commitments.
Or at least that’s what the story in my head tells me.
Funny enough?
I’ve been committed to a lot of things if I look hard enough.
I’m devoted to animated adult comedy shows.
I’m devoted to comedy.
My love of these things has been life long.
The same goes for comic narratives.
I’ve been a committed fan of the Montreal Canadians.
I’m a committed dad.
Committed as a husband too.
And?
I made a commitment / set a goal.
That goal was to write daily for at least three years.

It’s been sweet.
