A marine biologist with a Phd, many publications and twenty five years experience collecting and counting plankton in the far north to understand climate change is considered by many to be a genius.

If this true, you’d think they’d know how to pull up their zipper before recording a television interview.

Or, one might think they’d at least take the time to check.

Hyper specific knowledge in a field is confusing. The world believes that these fools are smart. They regularly believe they are smart.

But?

But when interviewed by a fool for a mediocre Tee Vee show the requisite fly check did not get performed.

In this instance?

I’ve had more compelling conversations with my hens.

We need people to be specific.

And?

We give the specialists a bit too much credit, too much power in the world.

They’re the folks who love to use the line ‘jack of all trades and master of none’ love to imagine that they have ‘mastered something’.

To me?

These book-smart fools are definitely masters.

And on a fishing boat?
