My niece is nice.
She is.
She’s super nice, generous and compassionate. She’s not the kind of person to impose cruelty or harsh judgments on people. Well. Not entirely.
She has a teacher, who has told the students that they do not like teenagers or teaching in general. To me it sounds like another professional trapped by golden handcuffs in a profession where people don’t quit or get fired often enough.
From what I gather, this teacher wants control. They want to control how the children act. They want to control what the children think. They have an idea of what they would like their job and people they lead to be like. This belief? This idea? It is a nice fantasy. Reality is less polite.
Based on what I’ve heard, this teacher is operating with the notion that their role and title is enough of a basis to lead. This may work in the military or a factory. This is a high school teacher working with young adults that she treats as though they are secondary parts of the equation.
