In an attempt to foil the jays, I tried something different today.
I put the peanuts in a heavy glass bowl.
I did not realize that my creativity would be so impactful.
The crows needed to adapt.
When you add novelty into the world however simple it may be, you impact the world.
When one aspect of a system changes, the rest of the system has to change as well.

Seems a little like the butterfly effect - every action has some consequence somewhere.
Reminds me of the many versions of "If you do the same thing, you'll get the same results".
We get into ruts. Driving through the same path. Even when the road is dry and level, we drive the same path, unless we make an effort to do it differently.
Doing something differently is how we improve. We'll stumble onto something better eventually, even if we didn't give it thoughtful consideration.
Make an effort to do things differently and give those choices thoughtful consideration and well, you have a recipe for improvement or at least skill development.
I was practicing doing something differently before I read this. It's proving to be hard. This could be interesting.
