There’s a park with a swing set nearby.
I used to love to swing there when the kids were small.
If you’re swinging at the right time of day you move from the shadows of the trees to bright, shiny daylight.
Half in shadow,
Half in light.
Swinging into the light the angle of the sun causes you to squint - blurring the world. I caught a glimpse initially but then I’m filling in a lot of cracks.
And in the shadows?
You see things more clearly. Things are more defined.
And it’s an odd thing
From the shadows, things look clear and in the bright light of day, I can’t see because I’m protecting myself from the brilliance all around me?
That’s an odd thing eh?
It leads me to wonder…
What are they trying to teach the kids?
