There comes a time in every project, every book and every play that the creators want to completely abandon the endeavor.
There comes a time when things seem so difficult, so fraught, the creators can feel like they're dying in their work.
That's the time to dig deep under some covers with a little Bob Ross on YouTube and give up.
Not the project, not the goal, but the now.
Every now and then, a bit of withdrawal can be helpful. Helpful, just so long as it is done strategically.
Because everyone knows you need to step back in order to dance the Cha Cha.
True of projects; true of life.
I have found illnesses and injuries are timed to provide a necessary step back. To reflect or just rest or to change directions. Or as the Tim Horton's paper coffee cup rim would mockingly tell me, "Jouer encore un fois". They have changed the phrasing on the newer cups, but I memorized the old wording. It has become one of my lifelong mantras.
