It was our third time around the loop.

Each trip, I took a different bike. Each bike, the wrong one.

Zeke scoffed, You can push this heavy slow thing along all that smooth stuff and have some legs for the rough stuff. Or, you could breeze quickly over the smooth stuff and take your time down the rough stuff.

No bike does it all on our now 110km loop around Lake Charlotte.

I liked pushing around my Climbmax. If you cut out the graded gravel logging roads, it is the perfect enough bike.

The Yari front suspension forks let my front wheel float and dance down cobble covered steep descents. Letting a bike just do its thing with gravity while flying down hill bashing wheels over baby head shaped rocks is a lot like flying an eleven hundred pound kite.

Hold on just enough, believe in what’s between your legs and let the wildness do its thing.
