Few people know how foolish I am as my daughter.
Recently, she has been delighting in teasing me.
I’ve helped by being my typical, idiot self.
I’m planning a solo 100km hike into the backcountry around Lake Charlotte. In order to do this, I’ll need to carry my tent, food and all that stuff.
All that stuff adds up really quickly.
What’s more, I’m not used to walking 25+km per day over rough terrain.
Premedication, I likely would have started this hike woefully unprepared and lucky to come out alive. This time, is different.
This time, I’m preparing. Part of my preparation involves walking distances with weight - patio stones and rocks to be specific.
My daughter?
She thinks it’s hilarious that her dad is walking around with a bunch of rocks in his pack.
I do too.
It’s so ridiculous, that want to share the experience with you.
And, like most ridiculous experiences, there’s likely something to be learned from it.
