First? I think I may have had a phantom post roll through here yesterday.
If you’ve read it, congratulations, I still don’t quite know what happened or where it ended up. I may return and rerelease it on a very sunny day this summer when I’m coasting a bit.
If you didn’t catch it?
Nice.
Moving right along…
Here’s something you may find counterintuitive about this fool:
I love business plans.
I love making them.
So for though? Most of them have been poorly thought out ideas. I lacked expertise. I lacked important tactical knowledge. I lacked support - mostly from myself.
Now?
I’m playing with an idea. This one’s juicy. It’s bigger than myself.
And this business plan? It’s challenging me to go bigger with my imagination, instead of dreaming bigger, I’m learning to dream more precisely. Make the vision connect.
When I work on this I connect to being part of something bigger than myself. It’s a way to enjoy life now and have an impact long after I’m gone.
Clarity of Vision: A business plan helps you clarify and define your business goals and objectives. It requires you to think critically about your company's mission, values, target market, products or services, and long-term strategies. By documenting these aspects, you gain a clearer vision of where you want your business to go.
That’s the first benefit that I found in doing business planning.
The more details I can articulate in the business plan, the more clearly I can see the things I need to do to make it happen. This business plan is helping me clarify the specific nature of my goals and objectives.
In all this business planning, I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking, playing around with fun, little ideas like ‘mission’ and ‘values’, “community’ and ‘connection’ all while considering the triple bottom line that is at the heart of this game.
It’s a lot of fun.
Do you ever sit down and look at the ‘business plan’ or approach you’re taking with life?
When do questions of ‘vision’ come up in your life otherwise?
What happens when you feel connected to something bigger than yourself?
Do you have a triple bottom line for yourself?
How does that change things both at work and at home?
If you have any questions about connecting to bigger things, or just want to share something you know about business planning, leave a note.

playing around with business plans
I got yesterday's bonus post, and enjoyed it! And I love a good business plan! Especially the new one ever so slowly forming in my mind... Thank you for the reminder that a little form could help it grow.
