It has been a long time since I’ve been ahead of things here with my foolish duties.

Instead, I’ve been grinding through days of work. I’ve not lingered anywhere. Sunsets, I’ve noted a couple, but haven’t sunk into any all summer long.

No bikes. No horses.

Nada.

Zilch.

I haven’t surfed. I haven’t even gone for a swim at the lake.

This has not been a summer.

It’s been a bummer.

Levity is a miracle.

Well, some days it’s seemed miraculous that I drag myself from bed some mornings.

The physical work has been wonderful. And painful. In some ways, the pain makes the experience more wonderful.

This evening?

Just before I typed this?

I created my favorite of fools letters.
