I wanted to have this post written on Friday.

On Friday, I had a lot of momentum from the week. Ideas were flowing, the framework for my book was just within reach. Then the weekend arrived. On the weekend, my time has more hooks in it than something with a whole lotta hooks.1

I’ve spent that last two days with my mind swirling. Ideas have been flowing. Sadly they lack the swirling directionality of a toilet. Toilets are wonderful. They move things in a few rotations then they go away.

I could really use a toilet for bad ideas right now. A lot more of y’all have shown up for these daily messages lately. Many have come after a particularly funny post. Pretty much every stand up comedian I’ve listened to has a story about going on stage after another person who was particularly outrageous. Their question: How do I follow that?

My question after the post about Olympic Originalists: How do I follow myself? I was particularly satisfied with my writing there. Ideally, I’d go back, clean things…
