Drive faster.

Take the highway.

Get there sooner.

Get more done, more efficiently.

Push.

That’s the trend, that’s the tendency.

Today, I took that back road, the trunk route - the old way.

I took the old way in the old truck.

With both windows down, I rolled along at 80k/h happily. As I approached the city, traffic in the other direction increased dramatically. A tractor trailer turned over on the highway. All of the routes out of town were blocked.

The people taking the old way and moving towards me were at a standstill. Their behaviour was typical for people at a standstill. People were angry, impulsive and incredibly stupid.

I was in Sackville. There was an issue on the 101. I didn’t take that route to avoid traffic. I was on the old way just for the fun of it. The others were on the old way and for them it was a prison.

I didn’t like where I was. I didn’t like the people around me. But my direction? I was really happy that I wasn’t moving the same way as that ugly crowd.
