It’s been an upsetting year. Things that should be pure, beautiful and heaped with tradition have been sullied. A dark mark has landed on our lands. No it’s not another pandemic. This has to do with sport.
My team, the historic Montreal Canadiens , the MOST STORIED franchise in the NHL now has a corporate sponsor on their jersey. It’s ghastly. RBC, one of the three main criminal organizations that run Canada is desecrating la Sainte-Flanelle with its symbol of oligarchic filth.
What do they think they are, a football team?1 Whether it’s been Vodophone or Emerites, football jerseys look like the back end of a young activist lesbians first car. They are covered in slogans. Though a fan of bumper stickers, I don’t want to see this shit in sport.
Though I don’t support FIFA in their fight to prevent fans and captains from wearing ‘One Love’ armbands to World Cup of Football games in Quatar, I have some sympathy. Sport has become cluttered with sponsors and agendas. These captains? They should…
