What’s that feeling called, when the sun is setting
And you’re tired
And satisfied.
Almost.
It’s been a perfect day.
Sitting in the water overwhelmed by the beauty of it all.
The sun is just lingering. Light clings to the clouds. The day doesn’t want to end. This moment, this now wants to last forever.
Almost.
Filled with bliss, brimming with gratitude yet longing for one more wave. Shivering with a sigh and a shake and a smile, the fear of what’s beneath the seas sends me in on the next set.
The session is complete. The sun had to go. The gifts of the day - the screams, smiles and sighs fade with the light.
Sunsets mix the warmth of what was, with the cool winds of the coming darkness.
They are times of lingering endings, just before beginnings.
It’s in these times of transition that magic happens.
The heat of the day hits the cool of the night.
The day ends and the night begins.
Endings and beginnings.
Sadness and joy.
Both.
Oil and vinegar.
Dressing for our life salad.
