As we round through the end of the second year of foolsletters, it’s time for a quick update on the book.
Well. Books.
Either way, things were moving along.
I think the only time I’ve felt happier or have been more creatively engaged was back when I toured plays for a long time or back in the time of theatre school.
Back then we were just creating all the time. Creativity begat more creativity. Within play we added more layers of play. We found fun within the fun. After those adventures, I was cursed back to the culture of seriousness.
The pinnacle of my journey resulted in a therapy practice nearly a decade long. Though the work was frequently playful, it lacked the unhinged fun for the sake of fun part that was so present in playing live with an audience. The therapy world is currently experiencing an over abundance of seriousness.
Performing live is my favorite thing in the world. I love it. It’s: More everything than surfing. More of a grind than mountain biking. More musical than DJ…
