Alo!

Good to see you once again.

I’m looking for my voice.

That has been part of the point of the foolsletter.

Sure, the goal is daily bits of delight and levity, but some days my intentions / take in any given post might miss the mark. That was the case for this post.

I was intending to praise abusive parents for creating twitchy, traumatized children who turned into excellent stand up comics while at the same time, drawing a loose parallel between parents who mold their children to be top performers in the meritocracy with child abuse.

It didn’t quite get there.

And that’s the price required for finding my voice. I sometimes frequently get it wrong in a fairly public way.

My biggest heroes are all stand up comics

If there is a comic that you do not like for one reason or another - maybe they’e been quoted as saying something absurd or offensive to you - it doesn’t matter. I love them all. They are heroes.
