I was speaking with my friend, The Reluctant Illustrator last week about a book collaboration idea.
He started discussing cooking.
He loves to cook.
His technique? Spend a lot of time letting things marinate.
Then? Cook quickly.
The same can apply to the creative, iterative process.
Marinate for a long time, over an idea, a concept and project.
Then you know that all of the flavours are there. They infused in the food.
Then? Cook quickly.
Don’t overcook it, you’ll end up with rubber.
Don’t undercook it. You could make people sick.
Timing it seems is everything.
The flavour however?
That comes from letting things sit.
Marinate slowly. Cook quickly
