local therapist declares self 'avatar of unlikable behavior'
promises to 'keep up the good work'
Meeting colleagues is fun.
You never know what is going to come from people’s mouths.
At a recent event with some people from the mental health profession I was delighted to connect with some onederful people.
But, as it is at all things like this, I ended up rubbing someone the wrong way. I’m gritty and add friction. I have a different way of being in the world. I add behavioural diversity. That’s what comes from being both charming and unlikable. I’m not sure what people expect from me though.

At therapist / mental health events here in Canada, people who come from my ‘life world’ are a distinct minority - white, male, married to a woman, father and with a home grown penis - how strange!
I provide a great service there. People who are looking to be perpetually offended always find me. Without knowing, I act as a stand in for every projected offense and every person they have perceived as damaging and harmful. I’m the avatar for all they see as wrong in the world. I get to play…
