We are frequently deluded. Whether it’s a marriage, a business, relationships, installing laminate flooring - anything - we fall prey to either overestimating ourselves or underestimating the problems we’re dealing with. Most of the time, it’s both.

This was supposed to be easy.

I had no idea it would be this difficult

Sure, we anticipated problems but nothing like this.

No wonder people fail to start.

Beginning something new requires optimism - a blind hope that if you try, you’ll figure it out.

I typically begin with a statement of how hard could it be?

Wooh-ey! That’s a doozie.

The answer?

Much more difficult than anticipated.

Somewhere along the way, things get tough. Relationship strain, business stalls, the children struggle.

Those are the tough things. Even simple things like installing laminate click lock flooring present problems. It’s supposed to click but when I slam them together like the video, it breaks off the tabs!
