Golf is a passtime I’ve never really understood.

To a golfer, that sentence is insulting, indicating my ignorance of the majesty of these fairway warriors.

But ANY SPORT that employs words like putter or birdie I can’t call it a sport. And if the ‘athletes’ are afraid of bogies, might I be so bold as to suggest the use of a neti pot?

In my youth, I was a skateboarder. I believed that golf was a sport for snobs.

My dad believed that I just didn’t get it.

I believed that it was a game played by pompos and idiotic men with pretensions of grandeur.

My dad knew that I just didn’t get it.

He was right. I didn’t get it.

I didn’t get it, until yesterday.

While playing pickaritizoo - that french version of boce that I can’t even put in my brain because I find the arrangement of the letters so displeasing -

Anyway… I regress…

While playing that game - let’s just save my brain and call it boce because it’s the same thing isn’t it - I saw how the terrain, the earth, the ground controls the game.

Bocce…
