A shorter one today. All in one post. How foolish
One Derful Thing:
Hey you joker
I know you.
We shared a smile, a laugh, a moment in time.
We saw the same thing, noticed the same little detail.
Everything clicked for us, suspended in time, we shared a sense. Our sense of humour.
Because we both know that the sense of humour only exists with someone else.
Our humour is the only sense we have that needs to be corroborated by someone else.
If I’m laughing and you’re laughing at the same time? That’s the only confirmation we need to know.
To know that what happened, what we saw, what we learned, what we experienced was funny for us.
And that’s all it takes for something to be funny. Us. Not funny for me. Not funny for you but funny for us. Funny is always about us.
But who am I kidding? You know this already. You know this because you need to laugh and you need to laugh with someone. You need to laugh with someone because when you laugh with someone, you know that you aren’t alone in what you saw, what you learned, what you experienced. You need to laugh with someone to connect with them. You need to laugh with someone to feel not so alone on this planet.
You need to laugh with someone to feel alive.
So.
Find someone.
Share a laugh. Share a breath. Share a physical experience.
Laugh.
Take a risk.
Find the joke.
They are out there waiting for you.
But who am I kidding?
You know this already.
You joker.
Sounds like something I would write!
This is why streaming movies will never be as good as seeing them in the movie theatre. Same for live theatre. Nothing replaces that feeling of togetherness, sharing the universal language of laughter.
