I had a great idea of a story to write for all y’all.

I’m uncertain where it went.

It was in my brain yesterday at the cafe.

Last night at the rink it visited as well.

It was even present this morning before I started meeting with people.

Since then?

Gonzo.

Lost.

Departed without a trace.

I have done everything in an attempt to locate it.

I’ve checked notes, retraced my steps.

I’ve even ransacked the darkest corners of my mind to no avail.

I’m still kicking myself.

IT WAS A GREAT STORY!

You likely would have learned something from it.

And yet?

It’s gone.

Disappeared.

Poof!

Into the night went the thought, never to be seen again.

Yet its memory haunts me. This great idea, though gone, still lingers.

The memory of my excitement to share it with you still causes my heart to ache.

It’s like the old saying goes:

If you’ve got a great idea, set it free, if it comes back to you, that’s rad. If not, it was likely a crap idea anyway.

Also, another reminder of The Registry of Certified Fools Launch party. It’s next week, Friday April 1 at noon Eastern time. It will last 32 minutes. On Zoom.

Another triggering post. Woke up sometime within the last year in the middle of the night with an award winning level great idea. I had forgotten about it until I read this post. But, here's the trigger. I can't remember it, either. But I know I was proud as punch that I had the presence of mind to write it down as I flushed it out during that pre-dawn frenzy. Relief. But what did I do with the paper? Self-reprisal. Ooooh, the magic one. The mobile device. The thing that harms me as much as it helps me, yet I keep it around. Why? That wonderful, record it NOW, before you lose it device has that information in a digital notepad in its memory. I can even make an alarm to remind me it's there. But I didn't set an alarm. I needed this emotional trigger to jolt me in an empathetic wave of emotion. I have to get up now. Life is interrupting this critical moment. I hope I remember to look for that digital note later today when my overwhelmed brain has a pause. I have time to set an alarm. I'll do that. I am going to be very disappointed if it was a grocery list. Digital notepads and voice notes are life changers. The disappointment you feel? That will inspire you to get on your inner Inspector Gadget / Maxwell Smart and snap open your device and murmur into it while constantly surveying the room for counterspys. Might as well have fun while we play with our ideas while trying not to drop them. I was going to set an alarm for something.

Oops, missed it by that much.
