Your clown is never truly embarrassed. Sure they may play at being embarrassed. But truly?
Embarrassment is the shadow of hope.
Hope is a statement of Maybe?
When a clown is bad they say to themselves:
Ok, so today, I was bad. Tomorrow? I hope.
Hope is at the root of resilience. Hope is ridiculous. Hope is foolish. Hope is the audacious optimistic belief in a future that is good, difficult to achieve and possible.
For a clown, to be good is to be funny. After a day of being not funny, it is audaciously optimistic to believe that the next day you may show up or be taken in differently. It’s possible, difficult, yet possible.
For a comic or clown or company to improve, they need to fail forward frequently. To fail, you need to test and see limits of what’s possible. To move forward you need to learn from what didn’t work and test new things. And frequently? You’ll be blessed with a big pile of failure and some great stories.
