Every dog has its day.

My first doggy?

He’s getting near his last days.

He’s not well.

But ya know what I love about a dog?

He’s just trying.

Trying so hard to guard and to bark.

He’s trying to do all of his doggy things.

But he’s thin, oh so thin.

He’s never been big and he’s lost a pound or two.

He’s lost more than a step or two as well.

And yet?

He’s happy.

He’s bouncing along.

And it’s not going to be long before that fluffy bounce is gone.

We know it’s the end.

And he’s loving so hard.

That’s what this dog does.

He’s fierce in his love and his drive to protect us - even if he is just nine pounds.

The little fucker.

We here all fell in love with him.

And soon?

We’re not sure when but it seems sooner than we’d like.

He’s going to break our hearts.

Fucking dog.
