This is the fourth draft of today's foolsletter.

The first three disappeared.

Poof.

I don't know where they went. I do know that either the substack editor or my old chromebook are not working the way I expected them to.

This post?

This one is getting copied in from a document.

The posts I was writing were unpleasant and perhaps a bit ugly.

Maybe the technology is telling me something.

Jim: Your back hurts. You haven't slept enough and your thinking is nasty, small, petty and ugly. Imma notta gonna lettcha share that bullshit.

Sometimes it's better to merely shut up, walk away, take some time to get clear then return to the process fresh.

This holds true with writing.

This holds true with creative tasks.

This is especially true when we're relating with each other.

If you ever find yourself in a conflict with someone close to you, remember that when things feel urgent, you have the ability to walk away. Take responsibility. Take a break.
