falling crisply

into leafy changes

It’s time.

The nights are getting longer.

That smell is back - that cold smell that warns winter is not far off.

Sure, there are those days when the heat of the sun still warms and heats my skin.

But it’s clearly limited.

Rides to work are more frosty.

As tour guiding comes to an end, my wood pile calls me.

Some say this is the season of pumpkin spice.

They can keep it.

This is the season of crisp air and splinters.

Get ready folks.

Cuddle up!

And if you don’t have a cuddle,

Don’t worry.

Those folks out there aren’t strangers.

They’re just blankets you haven’t met yet.

Stay toasty you fools.
