There’s a storm off shore.
The winds are high and seas are rough.
It’s not a place anyone would want to be right now.
This storm has been working all week.
It’s been generating waves, wreaking havoc and creating chaos as it approaches.
Some around here are tying everything down, hording groceries and putting gas in their generators.
They’ll be ready to hunker down and stay safe.
As the winds blow and their home shakes, their nervous systems will be as active as the atmosphere.
Others around here will do nothing. Once the power is out and they have no food, they’ll be agitated at first.
Then?
Many of them will find friends with food, hunkered down and shuddering with fear as their homes shake.
Others will be prepared and invite people over. There’s nothing like a good storm to bring people together for a party.
Then, there are those of us in every group for whom the energy in the atmosphere lights them up.
We stormy people crackle with static as we wait for lightning. We murmur and mutter blowing …
