Less a bang than a thud, or a thunk without a clang or a clunk.

Caught in the act.

Snagged?

Naw

Secured?

Perhaps

Absorbed?

Sure

Controlled?

A bit

Disrupted?

There’s a problem with disruption?

Arrested?

No one’s going to jail

Stopped.

Fine

It was entirely probable that if you continued, if you were allowed to bounce and roll and ricochet - you’d sort it out eventually. You’d come to rest.

But this time?

You didn’t get the chance to bounce around all messy like.

You were caught. Interrupted.
