January is almost at an end.
The editing process of The Book of Wrong Answers is moving along quite swimmingly. Many of the posts here are examples of how I’m putting this book together.
Instead of being a ‘how to’ of creativity, it seems to be turning into something more strange and decidedly less useful. It’s becoming a sort of creative act unfolding itself as it goes. I’ve been listening to Rick Rubin’s book The Creative Act: a way of being. There, he said that the creativity is a product of all of the dialogues you have with different aspects of yourself.
Here, I’m playing with transparency, inviting you into the negotiations that I’m making with myself in the process of putting together a book and in some ways, a creative life.
Though it reads as if Douglas Adams remade the movie Adaptation, the process of creating this playful framework around the newsletter posts has been completely delightful. Writing has felt more playful lately.
