Give it a rest Jimmy!
It’s been eight days straight.
A mere three weeks left in the season.
I can see the end of the run.
Perhaps a couple of extra days - some encore performances.
But I’d keep going tomorrow - even if I shouldn’t.
Perhaps I outta give it a rest.
Did you know that in front of the Halifax Citadel there’s some kid, dressed as Highlander, pretending to be a soldier from the 19th century, and they’re standing guard.
They are required to stand still and not say a word for a full hour.
Laura wants me to do this job.
Then she figures,
Maybe then?
Maybe then I’d learn to keep my mouth shut.
And if I could keep my mouth shut and give it a rest?
Maybe then she’d have a moments peace.
But by then?
I’ll have learned to piss over the moon.
