Who’s the world’s best surfer?

Some say, it’s the person in the water having the most fun. Considering this, the pure beginner, stoked on being soaked is having the most fun not even surfing at all.

Others argue that a certain level of skill is required. Sure, it’s about having fun, but you outta be able to do the damn think with a degree of competence don’tcha think - at least that’s what some argue.

Some folks use metrics - He who surfs the biggest wave, wins.

Measured things are easy when it comes to determining who’s ‘the best’.

Though you wouldn’t think the same about a guitar player. Being ‘the best’ guitar player isn’t a matter of playing the most notes in the least amount of time.

Juggling encounters the same problem. A person juggling multiple patterns with just three balls has a chance to be much more entertaining than someone struggling to juggle seven. Though seven balls may be impressive, the focus on the balls causes a juggler to forget the spectators.
